INT & NORD CH Aspenhill Primula

Elsa was 6 years now and she has had 2 litters before. I didn´t find any suitable male from Finland and that´s why I turned my face to Sweden. From northern part of the country I found Aspenhill kennel and Trollkarlen från Oz , a really handsome and nice gentleman. He was of right type and brought some new blood to my breeding brogram. His mother´s father is Elke´s Valdemar Attertag, well known because of his exellent character and he has had only this one Aspenhill litter. In addition, in Elsa´s background there is FIN CH, W-90 Elke´s Wasti Vildhonung, who is Valdemars full sister. So I got Elke´s V-litter 3-3 lining and was hoping to get something good from this exellent Elke´s litter into my puppies, too.

This time everything didn´t go as well as it went before. When Elsa was pregnant 57 days, I noticed late in the evening (it was 11 pm) that she was bleeding something dark green! Luckily I got contact to my vet and she told me to go to the clinic at once. She examinated Elsa and said that propably there is a dead puppy and suggested cecarian immediatelly. She was right. There was one female puppy with tail that was dead. She was fully developed and perfeckt, so I never get to know what went wrong. In addition there were 2 male puppies with tail and 2 females more. The other a natural bob and the other with tail. All the other puppies were living and well developed inspite of that they had had only 57 days to grow.

After the operation Elsa was sleeping very long and I was already worrying that she won´t wake up at all! She had quite a lot of pain and didn´t start to take care of the puppies properly until after 30 hours from the operation. Meanwhile I tried to do her job and I was lucky enough to get help from two friends of mine, Tiina and Mari. Without them I don´t know if the newborn puppies had survived like they did.

In addition Elsa got some infection from the operation and she had to take antibioticks for a couple of weeks afterwards. In spite of everything the puppies grew beautifully and we got a happy end.

Hessu Hurmuri = Hessu the Charmer, Hillevi Huoleton= Hillevi the Carefree, Hemmo Hulivili = Hemmo the Rascal and Hanna Hännätön = Hanna Tailless.

Both girls from this litter went abroad, the other to Belgium and the other to Switzerland but luckily Hessu Hurmuri is now used in breeding and the bloodline continues in Finland, too.
